ALICIA MARIE PHIDD a former polymer chemist, in 2019 became the first female general counsel of a USL soccer franchise in the league’s 25 years of existence. Ms. Phidd has a list of firsts, which include being the first black attorney nominated and confirmed to the environmental control hearing board in Palm Beach County, in their 30 years of existence (2014), and the first black female general counsel panelist at the Daily Business Review’s Legends of the Boardroom (2016). Ms. Phidd is also an author. Her latest writings is the non-fiction Success is subjective, Give yourself a #Checkmark. In 2016, she wrote a companion booklet for entrepreneurs titled Business life basics, legal principles for entrepreneurs. Ms. Phidd believes in community, educational and environmental empowerment. She was formerly a member of the African American Advisory Council to Moffitt Cancer Center as well as the University of South Florida. She continues to give of her time by organizing community cleanups in Sarasota. She holds a B.Sc. in Chemistry, a Master’s in Environmental Studies, Graduate Certificate in Solid Waste from SUNY Stony Brook and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from St. Thomas University School of Law. |
